Welcome to the {Write} Space series!
These women are brave and authentic. Their messages touch the hearts of many. What inspires some of my fellow writers and what does their physical writing space look like? Thought you might enjoy finding out. This is sort of like a blog version of the MTV show, “Cribs” but not really, chuckle. I WISH I could fly around and do a FB Live with these women from their actual offices. If only! Also know I am not looking for Better Homes & Gardens worthy spaces to critique either. I am looking for REAL. What makes a space beautiful is the woman who writes in it. So enjoy! Each of these “offices” are beautiful and unique in their own way. Please give these writers a follow on social media and leave them a quick prayer or word of thanks/encouragement in the comment section below. The writing world is tough and lonely at times, so your comments really are a blessing.
Next up, is my firecracker of a friend, miss Holly Haynes. She just tells it like it is. I love her writing and I am super excited about her upcoming blog series, but I will let her tell you all about it and about her adorable {write} space. Here’s Holly~
Favorite type of design style:
I am a traditional country with a touch of Victorian. (This is what an interior designer recently told me as she helped me pick out my furniture)
Mountain cabin, bungalow on the beach, or penthouse in the city?
Bungalow on the beach.
Where is your {write} space? Is there a certain something in this space that is extra special to you or that inspires you?
I have a few places that I enjoy writing in. Currently I am a cozy chair or recliner girl. We are in the process of making me an office so when its done I will actually write at a desk. My hubby just bought me a Queen Anne chair that I have wanted for years and a new fireplace so that is my new favorite spot! But at Christmastime you will find me in my bedroom (log cabin/sanctuary) where I like to pretend I’m in a secluded cabin in the woods.
How did you become interested in writing?
It started with wanting to give my family and friends gifts from the heart. So, I wrote a poem for my sister for her 21st birthday. (I had no clue up until that point I could write). I continued doing custom written poetry for others and sold them online and in various stores and gift shops locally. I did that for fifteen years until I realized my true passion was writing about Jesus and I have been blogging for a little over four years now.
Best advice or piece of encouragement you have for fellow writers:
God will call you a writer before anyone else. (He names us and reveals our callings). You do not have to wait to be published to feel like a “real writer”. If you have a passion to write you are a writer!
What is a past or current writing project that is near and dear to your heart?
Last year I did a Christmas blog series and it was an absolute blast. I will be doing another one this year starting December first. (Deck Your Halls and Hearts with Holly) Christmas is my JAM and I love helping others connect their hearts with the wonder of Christ and the magic of the season.
Holly~ As you know the Christmas season can be hard for a variety of reasons. I look forward to reading your wisdom and encouragement as we head into the Holiday season. May God continue to bless your ministry! Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your {write} space with us.
