I have multiple places I like to write. Sometimes it’s sitting at my desk in the sunny window in my bedroom (cream colored desk). Most of the time I’m in my upstairs office with my prayer nook near by and where I’m surrounded by old pictures of my parents who now live with Jesus. I have reminders of friends and family all over the walls, plus all my favorite books and tennis memorabilia as well.
Give me a well lit room and a sunny window and it won’t matter where I am. It’s a good thing I live in Florida.
Most often it’s traditional.
Hmmm… Believe me when I say it wasn’t by my own design, so it had to be a divine design. I never had dreams of being a writer. NEVER! I can’t type and I’m not a good speller. Let’s just say I’m more social. In the summer of 2011 I took a life purpose coaching course and had to comment on my instructor’s blog. I’m serious when I say I didn’t know what a blog was. However, I followed instructions and I commented…a rather long comment I might add. And then I commented again. I discovered I sort of liked it. A friend dared me to start my own blog. I was excited about telling God stories, how I saw God working in my life, so Joying in the Journey was birthed. If I had it to do over I would probably name it something easier to say but Joying in the Journey has stuck with me.
Pace yourself and persevere. Don’t try to do too much at once and don’t give up if you don’t get where you want to be according to some timetable you’ve set. The writing journey will surely take you down bumpy roads with lots of detours. Some detours will take you so far off the beaten path you will think you’ll never make it back. Keep trying, asking for help along the way. I’ve learned part of the adventure and fun is in the people you meet (like Tracy) in the process.
When Christy isn’t with family, speaking or writing, you can find her on the tennis court chasing a fuzzy yellow ball.
You can connect with Christy on her blog, Joying in the Journey, Facebook, and Twitter

Hi Tracy and Christy! I loved this interview. Christy, I’m glad you started blogging or we’d never met at a writers’ conference a few years ago. Thanks for sharing these pictures of your writing spaces. You continue to inspire me my friend! P.S. Praying for you and your book journey. 🙂
