Speaking Ministry
Tracy Steel is a mentor, author, and speaker who is passionate about helping women become who and what God wants them to be. Whether the setting has been a small group Bible study, youth ministry event, women’s retreat, or MOPS group, she has been honored to teach and mentor the girls and women God has placed in her life.
She inspires and challenges through messages that:
- Enable discovery of true identity and purpose in Jesus Christ
- Empower women to harness and unleash their gifts in the world around them
- Equip women to impact and inspire younger generations
- Encourage women to embrace and esteem their current season of life
Speaking Topics
Is singleness truly a gift? Tracy shares her answer as one who struggled to live her answer. Since Tracy didn’t marry until she was in her 30s, she is familiar with the emotions and thoughts young women feel as they wait praying for “the one.” Tracy mixes humor and her personal testimony of her life before she married (which resembled scenes from the movie “27 Dresses”) to inspire, encourage, and motivate her audience to:
- Embrace their current season of singleness; complete with its blessings and challenges
- Focus on theology: remember who God is, who they are, and what His will is
- Realize the challenges of marriage and the raising of children
- Stop putting their lives on hold, but rather get going and “Do!”
Wee gals need to play nice, and so do their mommies. As moms we can get spun up and divided over issues like how to deliver, feed, or diaper our babies. When we’re buried under the demands of a newborn or toddler, it’s often easier to text a friend “Happy Birthday” or “I’ll pray for you” instead of actually calling or visiting her in person. How are we supposed to act toward each other when we barely sleep, our hormones are raging, and our house is littered with cheerios and wooden blocks? Tracy believes the things we learned in kindergarten ought to be studied once again, or our friendships may become shallow during a season where we need them desperately. She leaves mommies:
- Eager to evaluate the effects of Facebook, Twitter, and texting as they increasingly become convenient forms of communication and agents of “mommy isolation”
- Encouraged by sharing the challenges she faces as a transient military wife and mom of two
- With a clear understanding of what the Bible says about unity, love, and friendship
- Entertained as she re-examines friend-saving truths such as: do not hit, always share, and always flush the toilet.
Motherhood is not always going to go the way we planned or think it should go. Our kids may act or become the opposite of what we hoped for. We may think, do, or say something as a mom that we never thought we would think, do, or say as well! God has a uniquely designed reason for this, and it’s called: contrast. Based off material from her book, A Redesigned Life, and with her usual mix of humor and honesty, Tracy shares about some of the shocks and surprises of motherhood that we all experience as well as her own epic mom fails and what God has taught her through them. She also offers practical advice that will:
- Help moms embrace the reality of who they are, who their kids are, and who their God is
- Help moms resist the temptation of setting unrealistic expectations and fight the habit of being fake around their in-person or online community
- Help moms utilize the lens of God’s Word so they can live truer lives and enjoy their children and motherhood whenever they or it doesn’t go as planned.
Both the Old and New Testaments esteem the passing down of stories about God and how He moves in our lives from one generation to the next. But is the ministry of mentoring happening among women of all ages and stages in the Church today? And what is mentoring and how can Boomers, Millennials, or Gen Xers engage and spur one another on in singleness, marriage, or motherhood? In this talk Tracy will answer these questions by:
- Teaching through Psalm 78 and other biblical passages that exhort women to invest in and encourage one another
- Clarifying the God-designed differences and similarities between different generations
- Showing how anyone can mentor right from their own kitchen table
- Offering hope and inspiration via her own personal experiences with the women who’ve impacted her faith journey the most.
Before entering full-time ministry, Tracy was an interior designer. Not surprisingly, the more she studies the Bible, the more she sees parallels between the basic principles of design and how God, our Master Architect, works in the lives of His prized clients. Based on material from her book, A Redesigned Life, Tracy will help women discover how design principles such as movement, emphasis, pattern, contrast, balance, and space are the very things God uses to create beauty and purpose in the interior spaces that matter most to Him. Tracy helps women to:
- Discern that God is present and moving in their lives, especially when things do not go as planned
- Find inspiration and encouragement to keep going as a result of the personal testimony from Tracy’s life and from the testimonies of other women who are also living a life that they did not design
- Learn how to find contentment whenever life doesn’t go as planned from relevant biblical passages
- Laugh because God’s plans are sometimes funny and some of what has happens to us along the way is also funny. So let’s discuss, ladies!
The Holidays are a busy time of year for all of us. Packages need to be bought. Parties need to be attended. Preparations to turn our homes into a place of celebration have the potential to make us stressed and overwhelmed. But there is a way for us to experience the peace, wonder, and joy of the Holidays in the midst of all the crazy. In this talk, Tracy helps women learn various patterns from the pages of Scripture that enables them, their homes, and their hearts to have a Christ-centered Thanksgiving or Christmas.
