PROVERB 3: IMPATIENCE
Memorize it:
“Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.”
~Proverbs 15:18 GNT
Live it:
Children are adorable, but their disobedience can create anger or impatience within a parental heart . You may not be a parent, but you may have an elderly relative who repeats themselves. Or maybe you have a cousin who loves to complain, or a sibling who loves to nit pick your every move. Trying to love family members at Christmas time can be a challenge. You may lose your temper or spew words back at them that are demeaning and impatient.
Proverbs 15:18 says our temper drives a wedge between us and our family members. Patience, however, brings peace. Another straightforward Proverb that is hard to live out while hearing the same insult or story for the umpteenth time. This I know. But instead of loosing your patience, lose yourself in prayer over whoever tests your sanity. Choose peace, take a breath, and stay patient. May God help us to do so, so we can enjoy our family during the Christmas Holiday.
Merry Christmas to you and yours,
