I am so excited 🙂
I am participating in an online Bible Study with a group of awesome 20 somethings. We are going through Sarah Francis Martin’s new book StressPoint: Thriving Through Your 20s In a Decade Of Drama. In her book, Sarah tackles topics such as: career, self and body image, love, dating, friends, money, and spiritual maturity. If you are or know a 20 something, I highly encourage you to buy or recommend this book!
The leader of the online study is my friend Jennifer Roth. I love her passion for Jesus, and her passion for her peers to know Him. She asked me to share my thoughts on body image with her readers today. So, if you are a 20 something-I highly encourage you to join in this online study. Just shoot Jenn an email and she can get you set up!
Here is an excerpt of my post:
“In High School, I didn’t know Jesus as my Savior. I didn’t care that I was defiling or harming the body that God lovingly created. I continued to worship the expectations of others and the numbers on the scale. However, I accepted Jesus as my Savior in my mid-20s. Living at the foot of God’s throne has changed everything for me!
Over the past decade, I have seen a shift in how I view my body, identity, and purpose. Jesus IS helping me to “get over myself” by replacing my temptation to make much of Tracy, with a desire to make “much of Him.” (Stresspoint, page 72) The more I study Scripture, the more my thoughts shift their focus from being on my exterior to being on my interior…
I have found freedom in learning that beauty is not skin deep.
Beauty is soul deep.” Â Â

Have a blessed weekend,
