Secondly, I am excited to introduce my friend Alyssa Avant to you. Her God-given wisdom and life experiences are helping busy mothers find and fulfill their God-given passions. She is a great encouragement to me. I highly encourage you to check out her newest book FaithLeaps, which can be purchased on Amazon. com. Alyssa is here to chat with us about her new book today.
Here is what FaithLeaps is all about…
Tracy: Hi Alyssa! Tell us a little about yourself:
Alyssa: Well, I am a wife, a mom of three, a speaker, author, and mom entrepreneur. My family and I live in a small town in Mississippi. My favorite things are Coca Cola Classic, Jesus, my husband and my three kiddos (not in that order).
Tracy: Who, aside from Christ, inspires you the most from Scripture?
Alyssa: Esther, her story is inspiring and it reminds me how God can use anyone.
Tracy: Speaking of inspiration, what inspired you to write FaithLeaps?
Alyssa: I was inspired to write this book several years ago, as I was attempting to navigate the overwhelming journey of working from home. I had taken a “leap of faith” and quit my part time job and really needed to make an income from home. Through trial and error, I found my way, but wished I would have had a guide or friend to help me along the way. There is also the issue of passion and purpose, which ultimately is what this book is about. Yes I talk about working from home and ways to do that, but a stronger theme throughout this book is finding one’s passion and purpose and ultimately profiting from it (not necessarily financially).
Tracy: What is the main message of FaithLeaps?
Alyssa: There are several main ideas that I hope readers will take away from FaithLeaps. One of those is that we are all created by God with a God-given passion and purpose. It is important, I believe for us to identify and explore that passion and purpose. Secondly, I hope that readers will take away from this book, that God enables us and can work through us to help us to accomplish our dreams and desires.
Tracy: I believe that God has placed a dream in my heart, but as a mother of two, I often feel guilty for pursuing it. How can I overcome this guilt and pursue my dream in a way that loves and honors my family?
Alyssa: That feeling is absolutely normal. I felt the exact same way, which is one of the reasons that writing FaithLeaps and publishing it took me 4 plus years. Did it matter, no! Did God still use it, Yes! So I encourage you even if you do one thing a day towards pursuing your dream, DO IT!
Tracy: What is one aspect of a person’s walk with Christ that can be strengthened through reading this book?
Alyssa: I believe that their courage and confidence in Christ will be strengthened by reading FaithLeaps!
Thank you Alyssa. Courage and confidence in Christ is something we all desperately need. I can’t wait to start reading my copy of FaithLeaps! If you have any other questions or comments for Alyssa, please leave them in the comment section below.
